Santa Teresita & Los Nogales

Apricot, Cotton Fruit, Sugar Cane

$28.25 Sale Save
Type: Single Origin
This single origin coffee hails from the lush terrains of Santa Teresita & Los Nogales in Nicaragua. This coffee is a symphony of flavours, boasting a stone fruit-like sweetness that dances on your palate. As you savour the brew, delicate notes of fresh apricot, cotton fruit and sugar cane transport you to the heart of Nicaraguan coffee culture.

We recommend grinding the beans before brewing as freshly ground coffee tends to have a better flavour and aroma. However, you can still opt to have your beans ground by us.

This coffee is roasted-to-order on Monday and Tuesday (excluding public holidays). If your order is submitted before 12pm on Friday, your order will be placed in the roasting schedule of the following week and dispatched in the same week. However, we do roast a small batch of single origin coffee for our subscription orders weekly. If this coffee is available, your order may be fulfilled within 2-5 working days. You'll receive an automated email with a tracking number when your order has been picked up by our delivery partner.

Gold Mountain Coffee Growers

Gold Mountain Coffee Growers are a direct trade social enterprise that connects coffee farmers with roasters to improve quality and promote sustainability. Quality-obsessed and committed to pioneering new technologies and methods in order to achieve new levels of consistently-high cup qualities, the company also runs its own farm – Finca Idealista.

IMPACT

Finca Idealista invests in volcanic filters to protect the environment from the run-off produced by the coffee washing process. The volcanic material is obtained from Masaya, one of the country’s volcanic regions. While the best coffee cherries are used to make coffee cherry tea, the remaining by-products from the harvest are used as nutrients for the crops on the plantation, ensuring waste minimisation.

Apart from its commitment to ecologically sound and zero-waste practices, Gold Mountain Coffee also supports the growth and development of the community through a range of sustainable development initiatives. Water is provided to schools far from utility grids, as are
textbooks, desks, libraries, and other educational necessities. Free computing classes for youths in the community (with a female attendance of 90%) have also been organised and scholarships as well as medical supplies sponsored. In fact they are constantly looking out for new initiatives based on assessments of current and changing needs in the community.
